This policy explains what Transcribe Audio collects on transcribeaudio.co, why, and how long we keep it.

1. What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, name and sign-in method.
  • Audio and video files you upload for transcription.
  • Transcripts and task details such as file name, length, language and status.
  • Purchase records: order number, amount and credits. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never reach us.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and basic usage logs used to run the site, prevent abuse and fix problems.

2. How we use your files

Your files are used only to create your transcript. We do not use them to train AI models and we do not sell them.

  • Uploads go directly to private cloud storage that is not publicly accessible.
  • The speech-to-text provider receives a temporary link to your file, transcribes it and returns the text.
  • Once the transcript is ready, we delete the original file from our storage and ask the provider to delete its copy. A storage rule removes any original file still present a day after upload; this cleanup can take up to another day to run.
  • For a free preview we keep the original file until it is unlocked or for at most 24 hours, so you can unlock the full transcript without uploading again.
  • If you use the site without an account, a cookie links your preview to your browser for 7 days, and we keep your IP address with the upload to limit free previews. When you sign up, these previews move to your account.
  • Transcripts stay in your account so you can open and download them later. Email us to have them deleted.

3. Service providers

We use these processors to run the Service:

  • Cloudflare (file storage and bot protection)
  • AssemblyAI or ElevenLabs (speech-to-text)
  • Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database)
  • Waffo (payments)
  • Google sign-in, if you choose it

Each receives only what it needs for its part of the Service.

4. Cookies

We use cookies needed to keep you signed in, to find your free previews if you have not signed up yet, and to protect forms from bots. If we add analytics, we will update this policy.

5. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your account and data by emailing us. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.

6. Retention

Original audio: deleted after transcription (after unlocking, for a preview), and in any case removed automatically within 48 hours of upload. Transcripts and account data: kept while your account is active or until you ask us to delete them. Purchase records: kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
