Drop an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file into the box. Your browser pulls out the audio track first, so a large video uploads in a fraction of the time.
The spoken language is detected, each speaker is labeled and every sentence gets the time it starts in the video.
Copy the transcript, download it as Word or TXT, or take the SRT or VTT file and add it to your video as captions.

Every file: up to 10 hours, 90+ languages, speaker labels and timestamps. After that, one-time packs: 3 hours for $6.99, 15 hours for $19.99 or 50 hours for $49.99, and minutes never expire. The original audio is deleted after transcription (within 48 hours at most), and we never use your files to train AI models.
Transcription only needs the sound, so before uploading, your browser separates the audio track from the picture. A 1 GB screen recording often has an audio track of a few dozen megabytes, which is what we receive. It uploads faster, it uses less of your data on a phone, and the picture stays on your device.
If the audio cannot be separated in your browser (some older phones, or unusual codecs), the whole video is uploaded instead, up to 2 GB with an account or 500 MB without one.
MP4 is the most common format and covers Zoom and Teams recordings, screen recordings, Android videos and most downloads. iPhone videos are usually MOV. WebM comes from browser-based recorders, and MKV from OBS and many editing tools. All four work the same way.

The SRT and VTT downloads are timed caption files. Upload them in YouTube Studio under Subtitles, import them into Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut, or load them in VLC next to the video. Captions are split by sentence, so each caption shows a complete thought.
We do not burn subtitles into the picture or translate them. You get the captions in the language that is spoken in the video.
Videos up to 30 minutes are free in full, 3 a day, with no account. A longer video shows its first 10 minutes free. Only the spoken length counts: a 45-minute webinar uses 45 minutes from a pack, whatever its resolution or file size. Packs start at $6.99 for 3 hours and never expire.
No. We only transcribe files you upload, so download the video first if you have the right to, or upload the original recording.
Upload the MP4 above. If it is 30 minutes or shorter you get the full transcript free, up to 3 videos a day, without an account. Longer videos show their first 10 minutes free.
Yes. Download the SRT or VTT file. Both work in YouTube, Vimeo, most video editors and players like VLC.
Yes. Zoom saves an MP4 (and often a separate M4A with audio only), and Teams recordings are MP4 too. Either file works; the M4A is smaller and uploads faster.
Usually only the audio track reaches us, and it is deleted after transcription, within 48 hours at most. We never use your files to train AI models.
No. The transcript and subtitles are in the language spoken in the video.
The limit of 2 GB per file (500 MB without an account) applies to what is uploaded, and for most videos that is only the audio track, so even long, high-resolution videos usually fit. A video can run up to 10 hours. If the audio cannot be separated, the whole video has to fit the limit.
Yes. Open this page in Safari or Chrome, tap Browse files and pick a video from your photos or files. The audio is separated on the phone before uploading, so it uses less data.
More than 90, detected automatically. For short clips or videos that open with music, pick the language before you start.
